Navigating ADHD can be challenging, but a thorough assessment is the first step toward understanding and managing symptoms effectively. Our principal psychologist Meagan has ADHD herself, bringing both lived experience and professional expertise to her work. She understands firsthand the challenges—and strengths—that come with ADHD and combines this personal insight with evidence-based assessment interventions to support clients in a way that is practical, validating, and empowering. 01
Pre-Assessment Screening & History Gathering
This step involves completing a detailed background questionnaire and a series of standardised checklists to screen for symptoms and identify any relevant factors. This process provides essential information about your personal history, mental health and current experiences. It takes about 30 minutes, gives us a clearer understanding of your needs and guides the direction of the assessment. For children and young people, we ask teachers and parents to complete questionnaires to provide insights into ADHD symptoms across different settings.
02
Clinical Interview
The clinical interview is a structured process designed to gather comprehensive information about symptoms, history, and daily functioning. A key component of this interview is the Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in Adults (DIVA), a standardised tool used to assess ADHD symptoms based on DSM-5 criteria. We explore both childhood and adulthood symptoms, covering inattention, hyperactivity-impulsivity, and their impact on various life domains, such as work, relationships, and academic performance. The interview is 90-minutes.

03
Collateral Information & Further Assessment
Collateral information helps validate symptom history and impact for an accurate diagnosis. This may include standardised questionnaires from family members, significant others, and teachers (for children), as well as school reports. Further assessment, such as the Test of Variables of Attention (TOVA), can clarify symptom presentation, and cognitive and achievement testing may also be used to identify learning disabilities or other factors affecting behavior and academic performance.
04
Results & Recommendation Session
This session is where we review the findings from your assessment, discuss any diagnoses, and provide clear, actionable recommendations for next steps. It's an opportunity to ask questions, gain insights into the results, and explore tailored strategies or treatment options to support your goals. You will also receive a detailed report for your psychiatrist or paediatrician. This session is 60-minutes.
