Psychometric Assessments
Psychometric assessments provide valuable insights into cognitive abilities, learning strengths, and psychological functioning. Our comprehensive assessment services help individuals across the North Shore better understand areas such as intelligence, attention, memory, and academic achievement. These assessments are useful for identifying giftedness, learning difficulties, individual cognitive profiles and other neurodevelopmental or psychological conditions. Using standardised tools and evidence-based methods, we provide clear, detailed reports to support educational planning, workplace accommodations, and personal development. Whether for children, adolescents, or adults, our assessments are tailored to meet individual needs and provide practical recommendations for growth and success.

01
Pre-Assessment Screening & History Gathering
This step involves completing a detailed background questionnaire and a series of standardised checklists to evaluate social, emotional and behavioural competencies, and identify any relevant factors. This process provides essential information about your or your child's personal history and current experiences. It gives us a clearer understanding of needs and guides the direction of the assessment.
02
Clinical Interview
The clinical interview is a key component of the psychometric assessment process, providing essential background information on an individual’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioural functioning. This structured conversation explores developmental history, academic or occupational challenges, and any relevant medical or psychological factors. The interview helps tailor the assessment process to the individual's needs, ensuring that the most appropriate tests are used. It also allows for a deeper understanding of personal experiences, guiding accurate interpretation of test results and informing meaningful recommendations for support and intervention. This interview is 60-minutes. For children, parents/carers attend this interview alone.

03
Face-to-Face Assessment Sessions
Psychometric assessments are conducted in person to ensure accurate and standardized testing conditions. Depending on the type of assessment, an individual may attend one or two testing sessions, with each session typically allocated two hours. However, the exact duration varies based on individual needs, as some may complete tasks more quickly while others may require additional time. These sessions are designed to be as comfortable as possible, allowing individuals to work at their own pace while ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of their cognitive, academic, or psychological functioning.
